Student Stories

What an incredible night we just had at Detour…I never would have guessed in a million years that we would have over 50 first time visitors! We had a record setting 395 in attendance tonight and that’s with no promo, no special event, just an amazing night of student stories.  It was a special night for us as we asked student to share their stories about how God has moved in their life this past summer.  I am so excited to see our students walk with God becoming so evident and strong.  There is no doubt that we are experiencing God doing a great work at Detour!  This is what was so cool about tonight…several students either came up to me or emailed me about how much it meant to hear their friends and to see students their age share about what God is doing in their lives.  Joe did a great job of challenging us not to hold back on God…to go for it!  Live our lives in confidence for Him…remember Psalm 37 TRUST, DELIGHT, and BE PATIENT towards the things of God!  Way to go Joe!

It was just an all around great start to yet another school year with Detour!  We are hear to help you out in any way we can this year.  Don’t forget to sign up for our D-NOW weekend September 13-14 its going to be a ton of fun!  See you guys next week as we kick off our first series “echo loud� don’t be late or you will be sorry!

Orlando

I am hanging out with the family in Orlando, Fl trying to catch up on some rest after a crazy summer…well we decided to try Sea Worlds new water park “Aquatica”…we got there at 9 am and we stayed until the park closed at 10 pm…we must have been the only ones left in the park…so much for catching up on some rest!

I hope everyone has had a great summer!  Detour has just experienced one of its greatest summers…from kicking off summer with Bigstuf Camp to the Detour 500 series, hang time at the beach and with an amazing trip to Buffalo…o can’t forget School of Rock…it has just been a great summer of growth for us.  So thanks for allowing Detour to be apart of your summer and I hope you have seen God in new and fresh ways!

We are gearing up for a great start back to school and one of the most important weekends we have at Detour is called our D-Now weekend…this amazing weekend is coming up September 13-14 and we are going back to Fort Caswell !  Our good friend Chad Zeller will be our speaker, we will be having an improv team this year and our awesome Detour Band will be leading us in worship.  We have some great things planned for D-Now so don’t miss being apart of it1
